EXAMPLE OF COURSE TIMINGS

While the first 3 years of the Faculty are one academic year long and you should attend the whole year to successfully complete the courses, the last three years are composed of simultaneous courses which are repeated through the year, sometimes 9 times a year. The examples above demonstrate the first month schedule of the courses in the 4th, 5th and 6th years (The codes are listed in the list below -at the previous post-). With this info you can arrange your time schedule with the courses you intend to attend in Adana.

Start of the Academic Year 2006-2007

The Faculty of Medicine will start the Academic Year 2006-2007 on 4th September, 2006 (The sixth year, i.e. the internship year will start on 1st June, 2006 as there are no pauses in the 6th year). This info is subject to change as the final arrangements have not been completed yet. But incoming students can rely on that.
** The detailed schedule for each courses in the Faculty of Medicine with relevant ECTS and other useful information for the year 2006-2007 will be soon available. Sorry for the delay.

This blog aims to help both incoming and outgoing students in the mobility ERASMUS of the Faculty of Medicine, Çukurova University, Adana, Turkey.

Cukurova University is one of the fundamental universities in Turkey being founded in 1967 with the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture. Cukurova means “low plain” and is a main center for agriculture with its larger than 500 000 hectares of area devoted to agriculture, hence it is the economic locomotive in the area.

The largest and the most developed province in Cukurova is Adana province -the forth province in Turkey also-. It is located between northern latitudes 35° and 38°, and eastern longitudes 34° and 36° and covers an area of km2 14 030, at an altitude of 23 meters above the sea-level, in the southern part of Turkey, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, with an inhabitant population of approximately 2 millions. The climate is typically Mediterranean with mild and wet winter and hot and dry summer periods. The mean annual temperature is reported as 18.7°C (with 9°C in January and 28°C in August), with an annual mean relative humidity of 62% and an annual precipitation of cm 64.7. Two rivers "Seyhan" and "Ceyhan" cross the zone with a water potential of 15.2 billion m3, and fill the Seyhan and Aslantas dam lakes.

The faculty has a center for research and application funded by the faculty itself, multidisciplinary labs, an emergency service and first aid, a pharmacy, a blood center, a modern and fully equipped central operating theater, and central laboratories.
